
No one has a time machine (at least no one I've met yet), but lots of people swear that regular exercising keeps them from aging … as fast. And new research says that's true!
According to a recent report in the Journal of the American Heart Association, intensive exercise prevents the breaking down of things called telomeres, which protect your DNA from wearing out and help guard against the aging of your cardiovascular system. Long story short, what you're doing (i.e., working out regularly) boosts the part of your body that prevents cell death, in effect slowing your "biological clock" and creating an anti-aging effect.
