Amy Palmiero-Winters is the first amputee to ever be named to the U.S. national track and field team and has run over 130 miles in a 24-hour marathon -- with just one leg. She's also a single mom and the director of a prosthetics sports program, who literally goes without sleep to fit in her 70 to 80-mile training during the week (starting at 8 or 9 p.m. and finishing before she has to get ready for work in the morning) so that her kids don't have to suffer because of her running.
