Cody Butler
Founder and Team Coach
- NASM CPT (National Academy of Sports Medicine), M.A. Professional Counseling
As the founder and creator of H.E.A.T., I bring a unique and distinct
training program to the Austin community by incorporating dynamic fitness training, while also
promoting psychological wellness. I currently hold a NASM personal trainer certification and master’s
degree in counseling which provides valuable experience that is unique to the world of fitness.
I’ve worked with individuals from all fitness levels and
backgrounds and have been a personal trainer for over five years. Yet, it was
not until completing my masters in counseling at Texas State, that I realized a degree in
counseling is the essential piece to being a great trainer. For me, it is evident that the
mind-body connection is crucial in the training process. While movement, exercise and healthy
eating lead to physical progression, the core of making a lifestyle change comes when one
recognizes the reasons behind denying a healthy body. Whether dealing with issues of anxiety, depression, or self-esteem, it is my job to be both a teacher and motivator for my clients to help them make the fundamental mind-body-spirit connection that lasts a lifetime.

Caroline Wiggs
Personal Trainer, HEAT Studio and Social Media Manager
- NASM CPT (National Academy of Sports Medicine), Licensed Zumba Instructor
The passion that I have in fitness and personal training originates in my own journey back to health. I have been a trainee and camper for two years at H.E.A.T., allowing me the unique opportunity to approach my training primarily from a client's perspective. Being a part of a camp that yielded such personal success motivated me to become part of the process that changed my life forever.
After losing one hundred pounds, I know first-hand that there are multiple elements that are necessary to come together to allow for fitness success. Encouragement, support, and motivation are extremely important throughout the entirety of one’s journey. My goal for each client is to actualize their strength and confidence inwardly and outwardly. Finding your inner confidence affords the willpower to create lasting lifestyle changes.
My love for athletics and competition was revitalized in the eclectic workouts offered at H.E.A.T. My training here allowed me to become a competitive runner of both short and long distances. I fully understand the powers of cardiovascular strength and endurance for fitness rebuilding as well as advanced strength training. As such, this is very much emphasized in my training style.

Joey Trombetta
Personal Trainer
- NSCA CPT (National Strength and Conditioning Association), B.S. Biology - Genetics
and Development Biology, Penn State University
"If exercise is my passion, nutrition is my obsession." - Me.
As a lifelong athlete and fitness enthusiast, I understand that a solid nutritional foundation is the key
to success when it comes to changing our bodies. With that being said, I also understand that my
clients don’t live in a bubble! We are all exposed to less than perfect conditions, whether it’s
going out to eat, attending a wedding, or just a hectic work schedule. That is why I advocate a “real world”
approach to health and wellness. That is, you do the absolute best that you can and don’t sweat the small stuff! Fitness
is a journey, not a destination, and there will always be bumps in the road!
I refer to my training style as “cardio with weights.” While it is important
to burn calories, I feel that a lot of the current exercise “fads” forget one of most important pieces
of the fitness puzzle….strength training! In order to change, the body (and its’ muscles) must be challenged….and that
means lifting some weights. This is why I structure my training sessions to focus on functional strength training
with limited rest, in order to keep the heart rate high and maximize your time. I also believe that core training
is essential for clients of any fitness level, and as such I utilize a lot of body weight movements in my training…so
get ready to do some pushups!
When I’m not “cracking the whip”, I enjoy spending my time acting like a little kid with my son Anthony, playing the guitar (poorly), and travelling with my beautiful wife.

Joel Hargett
Personal Trainer
- B.S. Health Promotion and Fitness
As a competitive runner for The University of Texas and garnering a Bachelors in Science in Health Promotion and Fitness, eating right and staying fit has been a big part of my life for a long time. My training philosophy is unique in that I believe in training movements, not muscles. I believe the human the body is designed to move in many different ways and should be trained with that in mind so that an optimal fitness level is achieved through coordination, strength, agility, flexibility, and prevention of injury.
My training consists of a combination of strength training, calisthenics, Pilates, CrossFit, cardio, boxing, and plyometrics. When it comes to nutrition, I believe in finding foods in their most natural state, minimally processed, with a focus on source and quality of whole foods.
As a trainer I put my clients first and always aim to use my gifts to help others facilitate positive change and reach their ultimate goals, whether it be through fitness training, athletic performance training, or nutrition counseling.
(While Joel won’t tell you, we at H.E.A.T. have to boast a little -- Joel competed on the men's track and field team where he earned all Big 12 honors five times and qualified for the NCAA national track meet twice as a high jumper.)
