I grew up in an athletic family, however, I was never the actual athlete. Sure, I participated in sports... But I never excelled in them. My family and I still laugh about how scared of grounders I was in softball or how slow of a figure skater I was! I found cross country and track in middle school and kept running throughout high school. I never really enjoyed the long distances or the running; I stayed in the sport only because I was doing it with my best friends and could chat the whole time. It was early on in my “athletics career” that I realized I was more of a social athlete.

After gaining upwards of 50 lbs in college, I knew I needed to make a lifestyle change but I was honestly dreading it. What was I going to do? Run? I didn’t even like running that much. Working out for me, like so many others, had always been a chore. 

In 2016 I discovered yoga (specifically yoga sculpt) and the heart pounding music and lively, entertaining atmosphere was FINALLY something I enjoyed! I began practicing daily and about a year later I was enrolled in teacher training. I transitioned into the fitness scene full time in 2018 and have not looked back.

For me, I know that a burpee is still a burpee no matter where you do it. I want to cultivate a fun, yet motivating and intense fitness environment! I love the camaraderie and the sense of community created in a gym setting and I enjoy working in a space that everybody and every body can feel welcomed, invited, included, successful, and celebrated. Making movement enjoyable to others is important to me, but don’t you start thinking that I’m only in it for the fun! My workouts are intentional, intense, and a “bang for your workout buck”! Let’s get sweaty!
